SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 02/16/2024 while on duty for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Cotnoir observed a male known to him as Kevin Croteau walking east on Elm Street in Barton. Deputy Cotnoir knew Croteau to have an active warrant for his arrest. Dispatch confirmed the warrant was active for aggravated domestic assault first degree, unlawful restraint second degree and domestic assault. Deputy Cotnoir arrested Croteau and transported him to Northern State Correctional facility where he was lodged on $2,500 bail.

After investigation it was learned Nicole Atkins stole items from the Hoagies and attempted to conceal those items under clothing, exiting the store failing to pay for the merchandise. Nicole Atkins is due in Vermont Superior Court; Orleans Criminal Division on 04/02/2024 to answer the charge of Retail Theft.

Deputy Cotnoir recognized the male from previous professional encounters and confirmed this male had an active arrest warrant. While taking the male into custody Deputy Cotnoir identified the female he was with as Shields. Through investigation it was determined Shields had an active set of court ordered conditions to not have contact with the male. Shields was issued a citation for violating conditions of released.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 15, 2023 while on duty for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Kulakowski was patrolling in Greensboro in the Caspian Beach parking lot when he came across a suspicious vehicle parked in the far corner of the parking lot with its interior lights on. After further investigation Deputy Kulakowski made contact with the male who was sitting in the drivers seat who was identified as Joshua Leblanc. Upon Deputy Kulakowsk approaching Leblanc vehicle, Leblanc was passed out in the drivers seat and was in possession of paraphernalia in his lap. Deputy Kulakowski also observed narcotics in plain view inside of Leblanc's vehicle. Leblanc consented to a search of his vehicle and during the search Deputy Kulakowski located a baggy of pills. Leblanc identified the pills as being Aderol and told Deputy Kulakowski he did not have a prescription for Aderol. The pills and narcotics from Leblanc's vehicle were seized as evidence. Leblanc was issued a citation for the possession of Fentanyl and for Possession and Control of Regulated Drugs. Leblanc is due to appear in Vermont Superior Court; Orleans Criminal Division on February, 27, 2024 to answer to charge of Possession of Fentanyl and Possession and Control of Regulated Drug.
