Description:

On 07-11-2024 at 1845 hours Deputy David Garces responded to a report of a vehicle that drove onto the lawn of a residence off of RT 5A in Westmore, VT. Upon arrival, Deputy Garces observed signs of impairment on the operator, Jeremy Bush. At the conclusion of sobriety tests, Deputy Garces arrested Bush on suspicion of DUI. After further investigation and processing, Bush was charged for DUI and Criminal DLS.

LOCATION (specific): Newport City, Vermont

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On Weds, 07/03/24, at approximately 11:00AM, Victoria C. Breault, DOB: 07/28/1989, entered the Orleans Criminal Court Bldg, 217 Main St, Newport City VT. It was determined that Breault had an active Arrest Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on 06/24/24, $ 1000.00 bail, issued by the Orleans Criminal Court on 06/26/24, DKT# 24-CR-06397. Breault was then arraigned by Judge Thibault and released. The Arrest Warrant was processed and removed from the system by the Orleans Criminal Court.

Charges: DUI

Description: On 07-02-2024 at approximately 1932 hours, Deputy Garces responded to the area of RT 5 in Barton for a 911 report of an erratic operator that was swerving all over the roadway. The operator, who was later identified as George Howard, continued to drive south on Route 5 and into the town of Sutton. Due to public safety concerns, Deputy Garces continued into the town of Sutton to find the vehicle. Shortly after crossing the town line, he found the vehicle crashed off the roadway on RT 5. The vehicle was also occupied by a dog and a baby pig, and they were unharmed from the crash. After Howard was evaluated and released by medical professionals, he was taken into custody and processed for DUI.

Description: On 06-17-2024, at approximately 1612 hours, Deputy David Garces conducted a traffic stop in the area of VT RT 5A and Overlook ln, for a moving violation. Upon speaking to the operator of the vehicle, Deputy Garces observed several signs of impairment. At the conclusion of field sobriety tests, the operator was taken into custody and subsequently charged for DUI refusal after refusing to submit to an evidentiary sample.

The operator, Amy Kelly, is due in Vermont Superior Court; Orleans Criminal Division on 07/30/2024 to answer the charge of Excessive Speed.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 06/20/2024 while on duty for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Gonyaw received a complaint regarding a possible domestic violence incident that occurred on 06/19/2024. After investigation, it was learned that William Swahn restricted the movement of a family member refusing to allow them to leave. Swahn also caused a child pain by pushing a family member into the child. Swahn was also violating multiple court ordered conditions of release regarding contact with the victims. Swahn was ultimately located appearing in court on 06/25/2024 and issued a citation for 06/27/2024.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 06/12/2024 while on duty for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Cota observed a male operating a motor vehicle fail to stop at the stop sign coming off Cross Street and head north on Rt 105 in Newport Center, VT with an expired inspection sticker on the windshield. After a traffic stop and further investigation, the operator was found to be Joseph Mayhew whose license was currently criminally suspended. Mayhew was given a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court; Orleans Criminal Division on 07/30/2024 to answer to the above charges.

Description: On Tuesday, 05/14/24 at 0345PM, Ashley Deslandes, 02/22/1991, entered the Orleans Criminal Court Bldg to appear for a 0345PM Status Conference Criminal Hearing. It was discovered that Delsandes has an active Arrest Warrant for Failure to Appear for a court hearing on 05/10/24, $ 10,000.00 Bail, issued by Judge Thibault on 05/10/24, DKT# 21CR09981. Deslandes briefly appeared before Judge Thibault in criminal court and was ordered to appear back in the Orleans Criminal Court on Wednesday, 05/15/24 at 0100PM for a criminal court hearing. Judge Thibault then cancelled the arrest warrant and Deslandes was released, no bail.
