Description: On 10/21/2025 Deputy Gavin Wells investigated several Retail Thefts that occurred between April and October of 2025 at the Walmart in Derby. Investigation revealed that Dylan Barcomb stole several items from Walmart in this period. Dylan Barcomb was located on 10/27/2025 and was charged for Retail Theft.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 09/28/2025 while on duty for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Cota received a report of a motor vehicle incident in Newport Center. While speaking with the victims, Deputy Cota learned that Neil Blodgett had driven his vehicle at a high rate of speed directly toward the victims’ vehicle before swerving away narrowly avoiding a head on collision. Blodgett has not been located or arrested and is wanted for this incident.

Description: On 10/18/2025 at approximately 2230 hours, Sergeant Garces responded to a one vehicle crash on Darling Hill Rd in Derby with Newport EMS, Derby FD and VSP. Investigation at the scene revealed that the vehicle went off the road into a ditch approximately 20 feet from the operators driveway. There was only one occupant and no known injuries resulting from this crash. The operator displayed numerous signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI. He was released with court date after processing.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 09/27/2025 at 2008 hours, Deputy Cota was patrolling Coventry Station Rd in Coventry when she observed a vehicle operating without taillights. When the traffic stop was conducted, Deputy Cota observed several signs of impairment on the operator. At the conclusion of sobriety tests, the operator was arrested and processed for DUI prior to release with a court date.

Description:
On 10/10/2025 at 1930 hours, Sergeant Garces attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on RT 101, in Troy. The vehicle eluded Sergeant Garces at high rates of speed until it eventually stopped in a driveway of a residence in Troy. While Sergeant Garces attempted to arrest the operator, Elliot Goff (19), the passenger of the vehicle Jacob Rosensky (43) impeded the arrest. Rosensky was taken into custody and he resisted arrest. Goff and Rosensky were both arrested and transported to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Goff was charged with Eluding Police and fined for speeding offenses, prior to being released with a court date. Rosensky was charged with Impeding Public Officers, Resisting Arrest, Aiding in the Commission of Felony, and he was held at Northern State Corrections with $2,500 bail.

On 11/11/2024 Deputy David Garces responded to a residence in Greensboro for a report of a theft of a $1,300.00 wood splitter. The investigation remained active for months until there was probable cause found that Scott Fellows and Serina Flood were involved in the theft of a wood splitter. Scot Fellows turned himself in to the Barre City Police Department on 06/27/2025 and Serina Flood was arrested on 06/24/2025 in Barre Town along with other active warrants for her arrest.

Description: On 07/08/2025 while on patrol in Westfield a red in color sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed in a posted 35MPH zone. Driver drove in a negligent manner at high rates of speed on route 100. After deputy's initiated blue lights and sirens driver did not stop until East Hill rd. in Troy VT. Driver was taken into custody and processed at Orleans County Sheriff Department before being released.

Deputy Cota arrived on scene and the male, later identified as Eric Oberg, was transported via ambulance to North Country Hospital in Newport City. Upon further investigation it is believed that Oberg had driven to the store under the influence. Oberg was arrested and processed for Driving While Under the Influence.

Management asked the man to leave prior to calling law enforcement. Upon reviewing video footage of the incident, Deputy Cota identified the man as Daniel Cyr from prior interactions. Cyr was later located and cited for Disorderly Conduct with assistance from the Newport Police Department.
