SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On December 14th 2025, at 2002 hours, Deputy Battista was conducting speed enforcement in the town of Troy VT on route 100.
Deputy Battista observed a Silver in color Cadillac traveling East on route 100. Utilizing Lidar, Deputy Battista had the Cadillac traveling at 66 MPH in the posted 50 MPH zone. Deputy Battista conducted a traffic stop on route 100 and identified the operator as Spencer Sargent. Upon a records check it was found that Spencer’s license was currently under Criminal Suspension.
Spencer was placed under arrest and transported to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department for processing. Spencer was released after processing with a criminal citation.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 12/19/2025 while on duty for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Cota conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation in Orleans. The operator was identified as David Powers. During the traffic stop, Powers was found to be in violation of his court conditions of release. He was arrested and transported to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department where he was processed and released with a citation.

After speaking with the victim, Deputy Cota located Harold Lanphere at his residence in Greensboro and placed him under arrest. Lanphere was lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.

On November 13th 2025, at 0947 hours, Deputy Battista was conducting speed enforcement in the town of Barton VT on South Barton Road.
Deputy Battista observed a vehicle traveling North on South Barton Rd heading into the Village of Barton. Utilizing Lidar, Deputy Battista had the sedan traveling at 71 MPH in the posted 40 MPH zone. Deputy Battista conducted a traffic stop on South Barton Rd and identified the operator as Destiny Prue. Prue was released with a Criminal Citation for the violation of Excessive Speed.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 10/06/2025 while on duty for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Cota initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in Barton. Investigation also revealed that the operator displayed signs of intoxication. The vehicle fled from the traffic stop at dangerous rates of speeds, and for safety reasons, Deputy Cota was no longer behind it and the attempts to stop it were discontinued. While Deputies began driving to a possible address of the alleged operator, they located the vehicle crashed off the roadway. The operator was identified as Juan Rivera and was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center due to his injuries. Upon release from the hospital weeks later, Rivera was located and given a citation to appear in court.

Deputy Battista conducted a traffic stop on Route 100 and identified the operator as Riley Brown. Brown was released with a Criminal Citation for the violation of Excessive Speed.
