On Thursday, 12/5/24 at approx 0300PM, Marcel J. Mercy, 02/25/1982, entered the Orleans Criminal Court. It was determined that Mercy had an active arrest warrant, cite and release for failure to appear on 12/03/24. Mercy was recited for 12/06/24 @ 0100PM and released.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On Tuesday, 10/22/24, Bradley S. Staples, Age: 38, Newport City VT, was scheduled for a criminal court hearing in the Orleans Criminal Court at 0830AM. Staples failed to appear so an Arrest Warrant was issued by Judge Battles, $ 200.00 Bail, Dkt # 24-CR-05747. On 10/22/24 at approximately 0300PM, Staples arrived at the Orleans Criminal Court Bldg. It was confirmed there was an active arrest warrant for Staples so he was detained. Judge Battles then cancelled the arrest warrant and directed that Staples be recited for Weds, 10/23/24 0100PM. Staples was issued a citation and released.

On Weds, 10/23/24 at approximately 03:00 PM, Donald N. Rockwell Jr, Age: 60, Brownington VT, appeared at the Orleans Criminal Court and it was determined he has an active arrest warrant for failure to appear for a court hearing in the Orleans Criminal Court, DKT# 24-CR-10679, Bail: $ 100.00. Therefore Rockwell was temporarily detained. Rockwell appeared before the Judge and was released. The Orleans Criminal Court Arrest Warrant was cancelled by the court.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: A motor vehicle stop was made on a vehicle which had a loud exhaust on Darling Hill Road in Derby, Vt. Consent was given for a search of the vehicle and the person. A pill was found in the coat Hastings was wearing. The subject did not have a valid prescription for the pill. On 09-04-2024 the Vermont Forensic Laboratory advised the pill was an amphetamine. Hastings was then cited into court for possession of the pill.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 09-29-2024 at approximately 0008 hours, Deputy David Garces conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on RT 5 near RT 14 in Coventry, VT. Deputy Garces observed several signs of impairment on the operator. At the conclusion of sobriety tests, the operator was arrested for suspicion of DUI of substances other than alcohol. After further processing, Stark was cited and released into the custody of Northern State Corrections for the night.
