SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 10-04-2024 between 2000-2100 hours there were multiple 911 reports of a vehicle driving dangerously between the area of Morgan and Charleston. Deputy David Garces drove to the area to look for this vehicle. At approximately 2136 hours, Deputy Garces located the vehicle on RT 111 near Valley Rd in Morgan. Deputy Garces observed the vehicle driving dangerously at speeds over 90 mph in a 35 zone towards the direction of Derby. Deputy Garces eventually caught up to the vehicle and observed it drive into a residence on RT 111 in Morgan. The operator, Zachery Laplume, exited the vehicle and fled int the woods. With the assistance of the Vermont State Police, Laplume was located. Laplume resisted arrest when taken into custody. He was transported to the Sheriff’s Department for processing prior to being released into the custody of Northern State Corrections.
