SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 02/26/2026 at approximately 1518 hours, Deputy Battista was conducting a stationary patrol on Route 5 in Irasburg VT.

Deputy Battista while observing the flow of traffic, observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, driving recklessly while passing multiple cars. Deputy Battista initiated his blue emergency lights and sirens and conducted a traffic stop.

The operator, JUVENILE was placed under arrest for Negligent Operation and transported to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

A parent/guardian arrived to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department; JUVENILE was issued a Juvenile citation along with a speeding ticket before being released to the parent/guardian.
