SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 10/15/2026 at approximately 1520 hours, Deputy Battista was conducting Speed Enforcement on South Barton Road in the town of Barton, VT.

Deputy Battista, observed a vehicle traveling into Barton Village, at an extremely high rate of speed.

Deputy Battista initiated his blue emergency lights and sirens and conducted a traffic stop.

During the roadside investigation it was found that the vehicle was knowingly being operated with no functional brakes and the registration plates did not belong to the vehicle.

The vehicle was towed and the registration plates were seized.

The operator, identified as Lisa Johnson was issued a criminal citation for Excessive Speed and Negligent Operation at the end of the incident.
